fundamental areas of linguistics. Beginning with basic terms and
concepts of phonetics and phonetic transcription, the CD focuses on
English phonetics using American transcription practices. There are
audio files for each of about 1000 words as pronounced by an
average speaker of American English. The CD includes both
transcription practice and a final test.
